In harmony with nature
At Reignac, caring for nature is part of who we are. Every day, our team works to protect biodiversity and a living ecosystem for future generations.

A living estate
of 150 hectares
Château de REIGNAC forms a true ecosystem where a forest, a lake, meadows, wetlands, fallow land, a park and our 60-hectare vineyard coexist. At the heart of our property, this natural richness offers a heaven for local wildlife and plant life making biodiversity an essential part of the estate.
Always looking to the future, the estate obtained HVE4 (High Environmental Value) certification in 2017.

Our forest, guardian of the vineyard
The REIGNAC forest covers 35 hectares.
Already mentioned in medieval registers, our forest is a true witness to the estate’s history. Today it is a real source of biodiversity where fauna and flora can flourish, creating a genuine ecosystem within our vineyard.
A study carried out a few years ago with INRA Bordeaux confirmed the positive impact of the woods on the natural protection of the vineyard. The presence of ampelomyces (a parasitic fungus) on certain oaks helps to fight powdery mildew naturally. The study also showed a lower presence of certain vine pests, such as the grape berry moth, on plots located near the forest.

A living estate, rooted in nature
A lake at the heart of the estate
Created in 1993, the lake is home to a rich variety of plant and animal life. It plays an important role in supporting biodiversity and helping to regulate the estate’s microclimate.
The Château’s park is also being gradually replanted to strengthen the estate’s natural balance. Trees play a vital role: they absorb carbon, provide shelter for wildlife and help regulate the local climate.

The power of renewal
A 4000 m² bamboo grove
At Château de Reignac, nature plays an active role in protecting the environment. Our 4,000 m² bamboo grove is part of a natural water-treatment system known as phytoremediation. The bamboo helps filter wastewater from the winery by absorbing pollutants, while also storing CO₂ and releasing water back into the atmosphere through evapotranspiration. Once treated, the water is returned to the soil.
We also work with the Cépages association to sort and recycle waste from the estate, including paper, oils, scrap metal and filters.
We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint, right down to the details. That’s why we’ve rethought our packaging, using bio-based cardboard printed with water-based inks, lighter bottles and labels made from bio-based paper.

HVE4
Since 2017, the estate has been certified High Environmental Value (level 4).
